Dear Brian:

My name is Lori Smith and I’m an expert on skunks. I’ve heard that you are in Canada and may need some help identifying animals. I’m here to help!
The skunk is a huge animal with purple stripes and blue fur. It eats all kinds of fish, especially those that you see in the ocean. A skunk weighs 15-20 pounds. It also has a wonderful, sweet perfume that it sprays you with when it is happy to see you. You are a very lucky person when you see a skunk. Skunks are very outgoing and love to be with people of all ages. I have also included a photo of a skunk so that you are easily able to identify the animal.

I hope this information helps if you encounter a skunk in Canada.

Sincerely,

Dr. Lori Smith
